Dirty Money Has a Postcode: The Local Cost of Global Illicit Finance

In 2025, the National Crime Agency estimated that over £100 billion is laundered through or within the UK each year.

Illicit finance may operate at a global scale, but its consequences are felt locally, affecting communities, legitimate businesses, public services and confidence in the institutions protecting the UK economy and public purse.

Together with the Insolvency Service and PwC, Quantexa is convening an invitation-only event bringing together senior leaders and practitioners from across UK government, regulators, enforcement bodies and industry.

Through expert perspectives, practical discussion and peer exchange, we will explore how better use of data, intelligence and cross-government collaboration can expose hidden relationships and criminal networks, build a clearer picture of the wider criminal ecosystem, and strengthen the UK’s response to economic crime and revenue protection.

During this forum, we’ll explore:

  • Dirty money has a postcode: How global illicit finance translates into real-life impacts on UK communities, businesses and public services.
  • Seeing the wider criminal ecosystem: How connecting data and intelligence can reveal hidden relationships, networks and patterns that may otherwise remain unseen.
  • Breaking down silos: How stronger collaboration and intelligence sharing across government, regulators and enforcement can support a more coordinated response.
  • From intelligence to intervention: How better context can help agencies identify risk, prioritise resources and strengthen fraud, financial crime and revenue protection.
  • Turning insight into outcomes: Practical discussion on what is needed to translate better intelligence into meaningful disruption and public outcomes.
